New York City

We just got back from NYC yesterday. It was so much fun and we loved it. But, I will have to say, I would never live there in a million years. It was just so hot and you have to walk everywhere and its so crowded. It was fun though experiencing the New York City life. I felt like I was in a different world. It was just so cool seeing the city. I worked all day and then we were able to go out later in the day so we weren't able to see everything we wanted but it was still worth it.

It was fun riding the subways but I am not gonna lie they are a little creepy. It really is just like the movies though. People down there playing music or dancing, wanting people to leave money.

The first day we got there I went straight to work and then we were just so exhausted from waking up early and traveling. So our first night in the city we were such bums. We just went to Times Square and ate dinner then went back and crashed. The next night though we were able to go explore more. We went to the World Trade Center. Being in New York and seeing the memorial and just where everything happened gives such a different feeling to 9/11. It makes it so much more real.

On Friday, I got off work a little earlier so we were able to do a lot more. It was soo hot though! If you ever go to NYC do not go in the summer! We were sweating like crazy. Especially when we were underground waiting for the subway.
First we went to Central Park which was so pretty.

When we were walking here nathan goes, "Look, its from the movie Maid in Manhattan!" I really have got to stop making him watch chick flicks with me.

I don't know what I would have done with out this guy and our subway app. I would have gotten so lost!

Funny story about Central Park. Nathan went there while I was working and was telling me how there were these row boats. I was SO excited to go and ride in these boats. I was picturing it like Italy where someone rows you around. Well, when we got there I saw that that was not the case. You row yourself. To say I was bummed would be an understatement. Nathan was like, "I was gonna row you around." No way was I going to make him do that with it being so hot outside. We were already sweating like crazy. That was probably my biggest disappointment of the trip.

After we went to Central Park we of course went shopping. We didn't spend too much time shopping just because I didn't want to spend my time there in stores.

This is Nathans dream car. A Spider Ferrari.

After we went shopping we went out to eat to Hard Rock Cafe. These are the real outfits the Beatles wore. Had to show my mom.

My favorite part of the trip was taking the Staten Island Ferry at night. We got to see the most gorgeous view of the city and the Statue of Liberty all lit up.

The next day we just walked around Times Square a little more. We had to catch our plane at 3:45 so we just did a chill day so we weren't all hot and sweaty traveling.

This was such a random, exciting trip. It was not how I expected. For some reason, I pictured just all these beautiful people dressed in stylish clothes. It is opposite! I see nicer dressed people here. It just could have been we weren't in the ritzy parts enough. I was also surprised on how many different cultures live in NYC. A lot of the time we were the minority. And Manhattan is nice but a lot of the other places are kind of dirty. You see a lot of graffiti and just old buildings and trash on the side of the road. Where the Rockefeller Center is and the nice stores are its a lot nicer. It is an experience though! I can't wait to go back one day and see all the things we missed.
