3 Years

Happy 3 years (yesterday) to Nathan!
I could not have married a more giving, sensitive, caring, funny, and selfless person.
I am so grateful for him and our marriage. I feel so lucky to be so happy in a marriage where we never get sick of each other or run out of things to talk or laugh about. Our marriage is one of the most proudest things I have in my life.

Alright, I am done with the "gushy bushy" (as Nathan calls it) stuff.

Yesterday I was pretty lame and was totally fine not doing anything and waiting until the weekend to go out to eat. Plus I have been feeling really cheap lately and not wanting to spend money. Nathan picked me up from work and insisted that we do something. It was really bothering him. Not because it was our anniversary and he just loved me so much. It was because it was 12/12/12. We HAD to go do something because this would never happen again. The date.

So to make sure he didn't lose sleep that night, we ended up going to the Melting Pot for desert. We have always wanted to go so we thought we would try it out. It was actually very good.

Happy Anniversary Nathan!  I love you more than life!

i found it!

I have never been much of a salad eater. I have never been able to find a dressing that I like and doesn't make me feel sick. I found a homemade poppy seed dressing and thought I would try it. I made it from scratch and it was so good! I can finally now be a salad eater.
In case you are curious and want to try, here is the recipe:

In other news, this past Friday me and Nathan decided to go on a date night. We went out to eat to a mexican restaurant, went and bought candy and then went and saw a movie. We got this jumbo burrito and split it, it was huge!

On Saturday we spent time with my Grandma. Look how good she looks now. She gets to finally go home in a couple of weeks.

It is fall and I love it! This is my favorite season.

This past weekend Nathan's parents came in town to visit which was a blast as always. We were able to watch General Conference together and we went to the St. James Art Fair. Its a huge art fair where people come from all over to sell their art. Even though we have it every year, this was the first year I actually went.

This past Thursday was Hunter's birthday. So on Saturday we went and got flowers and visited him. We bought daisys because those are my favorite flowers and my Grandpa's who he is buried with. Like I said in the past post, we got an anonymous $1000 donoation and then  my family chipped in the rest so we can get a real stone for him. I am so excited!

My Grandma has been in the hospital for the past couple of weeks. At first it was really scary, I was a mess. But now she is in rehab just regaining her strength. Her kidneys are only functioning at 15% which is kinda scary. But, a girl I work with said her Grandma has lived over a year with hers only fucntioning at only 12%. That made me feel so much better.

She has seriously been amazing. Just so positive, upbeat and hilarious. So glad she is back to normal.

Other than that, everything else is going well. We have moved into our new apartment which we are in love with. Nathan is doing awesome in school. He is getting all A's on his chemistry and physics test. He will be taking the MCAT in May of next year. It is so crazy that its that soon. We still have a looooong road ahead of us!

Lately

We have been so busy. Work has been going great for me and Nathan has started school. This is a pretty big semester for him. He is taking a lot of his major classes to get into Med school. We have been so blessed with my job so Nathan doesn't have to work this semester so he can just focus on school. That way we have our weekends together too so we can actually see each other.

We will be moving into our new apartment next week. I have had way too much fun coming up with how to redecorate. I have not liked how my apartment has looked throughout whole marriage so I am so excited to make my home homey and have it look how I want. I am on a budget so I don't go wild so I am doing everything the cheap way which is perfectly fine by me.

A few weekends ago we took my niece Bryanna dress shopping for her homecoming. Let me just say, Nathan had way too much fun. He was such a sport and really tried to find a cute dress for Bryanna.

This last weekend we babysat my nieces and nephews and took them to the zoo.

This past week my work took us zip lining in the caverns. I was SO scared and almost didn't go. I am so glad I did. It was seriously so much fun. Faced my fear of heights!

Well, in two weeks it will be one year since Hunter has been born. It so crazy to think it has already been a year. I got a phone call from the cemetery where is is buried at saying we received a $1,000 anonymous donation towards getting a stone for his grave. I was so shocked, humbled, and grateful. It will be so nice to have something that says his name. To whoever donated, words can not express how grateful we are. We have been so blessed throughout this entire thing.

mumford & sons

Wow I feel like it has been forever since I have blogged. I had been needing glasses so bad that when I would come home from work my eyes would burn so bad I couldn't do anything. And the last thing I wanted to do was look at a computer screen. Buuut, I finally got them! So now I can blog.

Nothing too much has been happening. We went to Georgia this past weekend to visit Nathan's Mom and Grandma. It is always so much fun.

For Nathan's birthday a couple weeks ago, I got him Mumford & Sons concert tickets. We went last night and it was such a blast. It was outside on the Waterfront and the weather was perfect. They sounded so good live, just like they sound on the CD. We were able to be way up front and "in" the crowd so the energy was amazing. It makes me want to go to way more concerts.

New York City

We just got back from NYC yesterday. It was so much fun and we loved it. But, I will have to say, I would never live there in a million years. It was just so hot and you have to walk everywhere and its so crowded. It was fun though experiencing the New York City life. I felt like I was in a different world. It was just so cool seeing the city. I worked all day and then we were able to go out later in the day so we weren't able to see everything we wanted but it was still worth it.

It was fun riding the subways but I am not gonna lie they are a little creepy. It really is just like the movies though. People down there playing music or dancing, wanting people to leave money.

The first day we got there I went straight to work and then we were just so exhausted from waking up early and traveling. So our first night in the city we were such bums. We just went to Times Square and ate dinner then went back and crashed. The next night though we were able to go explore more. We went to the World Trade Center. Being in New York and seeing the memorial and just where everything happened gives such a different feeling to 9/11. It makes it so much more real.

On Friday, I got off work a little earlier so we were able to do a lot more. It was soo hot though! If you ever go to NYC do not go in the summer! We were sweating like crazy. Especially when we were underground waiting for the subway.
First we went to Central Park which was so pretty.

When we were walking here nathan goes, "Look, its from the movie Maid in Manhattan!" I really have got to stop making him watch chick flicks with me.

I don't know what I would have done with out this guy and our subway app. I would have gotten so lost!

Funny story about Central Park. Nathan went there while I was working and was telling me how there were these row boats. I was SO excited to go and ride in these boats. I was picturing it like Italy where someone rows you around. Well, when we got there I saw that that was not the case. You row yourself. To say I was bummed would be an understatement. Nathan was like, "I was gonna row you around." No way was I going to make him do that with it being so hot outside. We were already sweating like crazy. That was probably my biggest disappointment of the trip.

After we went to Central Park we of course went shopping. We didn't spend too much time shopping just because I didn't want to spend my time there in stores.

This is Nathans dream car. A Spider Ferrari.

After we went shopping we went out to eat to Hard Rock Cafe. These are the real outfits the Beatles wore. Had to show my mom.

My favorite part of the trip was taking the Staten Island Ferry at night. We got to see the most gorgeous view of the city and the Statue of Liberty all lit up.

The next day we just walked around Times Square a little more. We had to catch our plane at 3:45 so we just did a chill day so we weren't all hot and sweaty traveling.

This was such a random, exciting trip. It was not how I expected. For some reason, I pictured just all these beautiful people dressed in stylish clothes. It is opposite! I see nicer dressed people here. It just could have been we weren't in the ritzy parts enough. I was also surprised on how many different cultures live in NYC. A lot of the time we were the minority. And Manhattan is nice but a lot of the other places are kind of dirty. You see a lot of graffiti and just old buildings and trash on the side of the road. Where the Rockefeller Center is and the nice stores are its a lot nicer. It is an experience though! I can't wait to go back one day and see all the things we missed.

peter & victoria

This weekend we went to our good friend's Peter and Victoria's wedding. Peter got baptized a year ago so they were able to get sealed in the temple. It was such a GORGEOUS reception. The prettiest I have ever been to. Congrats to you both!

The one picture we were able to get with them turned out horrible with the flash. i was so bummed.

we are going to.....

NEW YORK CITY!!!!

We are sooo excited! With the promotion I got I deal with all our major accounts on the east coast, which includes New York. So, for work I am going there to meet with some of our main accounts. The  best thing was that they invited Nathan to go with me. The only thing we have to pay for is his plane ticket and his food. All my stuff will be paid for and our hotel. I will probably only work like half days and then we can play the rest. I am so giddy about it, I can't wait!

This past weekend was the first time in a while me and Nathan both had off and got to spend time together. Saturday we took our nephews to the pool and we got burnt! We were only out in the sun for 2 hours.

Nathan forgot his sunglasses so he is sporting my fake ray bans

As you probably already know we go to my Grandma's every Sunday to do our laundry and to help her do some little things around the house. Today we put her in the wheel chair and took her for a walk. She is seriously such a crack up. Apparently, the doctor said she has about 6-7 years left to live so she decided to go get some new shoes and some new clothes lol. This woman lives off chocolate, I don't know how she does it. Today we took her cake and I had to cake it away from her to make her eat her healthy dinner first.
